Looking for a Moisturizer? How about PHYSIOGEL?

Last week I attended a blogger-exclusive launch event of the whole range of PHYSIOGEL products at Grand Park Hotel.

I was pretty excited about the event not only because it was a brand that I am very interested in, but also because there were 40-50 other Singapore beauty and lifestyle bloggers coming to the event.

As usual, work was hectic in the day and I got there in the nick of time.

Unlike most other blogger events, the incentives for bloggers to attend were really attractive. $140 worth of retail sized range of PHYSIOGEL products, and even a one year's supply of PHYSIOGEL lotion for the 1st bird that arrives and a retail sized PHYSIOGEL Shampoo for the next 10 people to arrive.

June is so lucky to have gotten the one year's supply worth of lotions!! That's 12 entire bottles! She's sharing her loot with her readers now on her blog so head on over if you're interested in getting one as well. :)

Speaking of the goodie bag, check out the max cute packaging the goodie bag took shape in:

And inside, were treasures every girl would be so happy to have!

So generous lor really! The contents were the AI Sun Cream, Cream, Shower Cream, Cleanser and Lotion. All retail sized yummy goodness!

Let's get into the nitty gritty.

I previously bought 2 bottles of the lotion when I saw it launched a couple of months back at Unity. They were having a 2 for promotion. Bought 2 and gave 1 to my grandfather who has very dry skin. I'm hoping he'll use the Physiogel Lotion for his legs so that it won't be so scaly. :/

Sidetrack a bit: I can't wait to see my grandparents this weekend! That reminds me to check on his progress with the product. Haha!

My agency did the website www.physiogelrepair.com for them so it was through this that I knew about the product intimately in and out. Most people don't spend time with the "technical" bits of a moisturiser and head directly for the cap to see if there's a nice fragrance to it.

But through my experience working on this project, I have learnt that NOT ALL MOISTURISERS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

So you say, "ok, so why PHYSIOGEL?" Why not? Check out the details of why PHYSIOGEL is THE dermatologist recommended moisturiser.

Important "Did You Know?"
Moisturisers with ceramic 3 in the ingredients list are usually those who are on the upper end of moisturisers in the market.

Prolonged use of ordinary moisturizers can damage your skin’s natural protective layer and lead to increased and prolonged skin dryness.

So do you still have fragrance as a top requirement in your moisturizer?

Yes! This is my favourite product - the lotion!

The lotion in non-greasy and has no fragrance. It's quickly absorbed and doesn't leave a sticky feeling after that. This is great cos hey sticky skin attracts germs!! Ok I am anal that way.

But don't take my word for it. They are giving away a travel pack of their products free on their website. Click here to start.

Thank you PHYSIOGEL!

P.s.: To all the bloggers I met at this event, it was nice meeting you. Do keep in touch! :D

My Personal Name Card!

Yes! I just got my VERY VERY first personal name card printed!

It's actually just a temporary one while I get the ideal name card designed. Temporary or not, I spent the whole weekend on this and am pretty happy with it!

Though okay, yes, the paper that I chose to print my artwork on made all the difference. :)

I have to take this opportunity to put in a good word about this printer I approached to print this. The company's name is called TRUE COLOUR PTE LTD. Their store is a humble little store @ Sunshine Plaza #01-07. I went in there and told the guy I wanted to print 2 pieces of A3 paper. What they ended up doing for me is way more than I could ever ask for.

They printed the 2 sheets, and even cut it all up 1 by 1 into small namecards for me! How sweet is that!! The guy (whom I didn't get his name) is very sweet! He took SO MUCH care cutting the edges. Aiyoh, I felt so paiseh and so grateful at the same time.

There was one he made a mistake on and immediately insisted on printing another whole A3 sheet of namecards for me again ( I got 3 sheets altogether). For every one who wants any printing services, I strongly recommend TRUE COLOURS. I am not paid or under any form of incentive to say this. They are just one of the last few almost extinct exceptional service people who go the extra mile.

For 2 pcs of A3 paper on pearl finished artpaper, I paid $6 and they even gave me a name card holder box. Damn paiseh la!

Again, thank you for the great service.
I am also very excited about the ideal name card that I am in the midst of conceptualizing. There is much art and science that needs to go into a name card. More so when it's a personal one.

It has to be a conversation starter. Unique for sure, if not what's the point of printing one. It has to in that small card, reflect who you are - creatively.

I think what I have is close to what I have in mind. Close. Will reveal it once I am ready. :)

I am also looking to do up a new template for this blog of mine, so wait for it! In 2010, there will be CHANGE for JUDGING-ME.BLOGSPOT.COM

Stay tuned! :D

The Launch of Patite Patisserie - Frozen Mousse Cakes

From the good folks @ The Patisserie, came an invitation to attend the launch of their new brand, Patite Patisserie!

Patite Patisserie is their new range of frozen mousse cakes - now we can have quality desserts as and when we like! Er why you ask? Well, the cakes are all frozen! When you want to eat them, just bring them out to defroze, decorate them yourself with all the yummy toppings you like, and put on the candles!

The event was held at Hotel RE! and was really fun. I met so many bloggers who are as happy with desserts as I am. I've never heard of this modern retro-themed hotel before and am glad to have visited it. It's tucked away discreetly near Outram MRT. The hotel lobby was pretty cool... check out their themed rooms... didn't get a chance to check it out though but from the website here, it looks so interesting! Their suites have waterbeds!!!!! o.O!!!

Ok sorry, back to the event. When people started to arrive, slices of cakes creatively decorated were served. There were 3 flavours - Strawberry, Chocolate and Mango.

Check out all the yummy decor food items we can put on our cakes!! The ingredients are all top quality! The strawberries and blueberries, for example, were all from Driscoll's! Very fresh. And the chocolate sauce is none other than HERSHEY's brand too.

They are afterall the same people from The Patisserie who believe in good quality ingredients. *thumbs up!!*

Clara, Angeline and I were seated together. Angeline was pigging out on the chocolate cake which she found too sweet. Of course la, see all the chocolate sauce on it!!

Clara is really a great person to talk to. She was so sweet to say she's just warming up at the beginning but I'm glad she warmed up eventually and we shared the strawberry flavoured cake.

It's odd that I have this in me. To mingle and to chat with strangers. Hmmm, something new to explore.

So after the demonstration by the staff at Patite Patisserie on how to plate like a chef, we were given an entire cake to decorate on our own. How awesome is that!!

And there's chef #1, me, chef #2, clara, and chef #3, Angeline

I chose mango cos that's my favourite flavour. Strawberry's second and the chocolate's third. I find the Mango very refreshing and the texture is just right. If no one told me it's a mousse cake, I wouldn't have guessed! The texture is not too gooey and there was a lot of mango taste in there. Most importantly, the mango taste did not come off as artificial as some mango cakes can.

I love chocolate but the chocolate cake was a tad too sweet for me.

The strawberry's another good one! And hey, I don't even like strawberry cakes!! But this one was great! Because of the strawberry flavour, it had a sour tang to it which makes the whole cake taste refreshing and doesn't make you feel "jelat".

They currently have a special offer for $60 for 3 cakes (1 of each flavour) on their website. At that price, I think it's pretty decent. The usual cakes nowadays at Breadtalk, Four Leaves and such are already all priced $35 and above.

Alright people, here's my mango cake that I decorated!! :P

Yay! Ready! Look pro a not??? I learnt something new today! I learnt that I can use syrup as "glue" to glue the sticks to the side of the cake! They kept falling off till I was tipped off that I needed "glue" or a ribbon to secure it~ haha

This is a hurried version I did cos there were some leftovers and the Patite Patisserie people were so nice to give the extras out.

I met Yuen and Fen from www.sgdessert.com and Fen is such a sweet girl to talk to. She was seated with a group of friends and I think they had loads of fun with the aprons and chef hats.

At the end of the event, I brought home my mango cake to the BF and I watched him finish half the cake at one go! Omg!

And when he was halfway through the cake, I pointed out that maybe he should stop bcoz it's already, HALF a cake!

Haha!! He felt guilty immediately after but has since finished it by the next day. I let him try the chocolate one but he liked the mango one better afterall. Yea - I figured, he's just not a chocolate person.

Good la, cos these cakes, once defrosted cannot be frozen again and is recommended to be finished within 2 days.

All in all, I had a great day at the Patite Patisserie event. I enjoyed meeting some familiar faces and many of the people behind popular blogs are really unpretentious and very nice people.

Yes. Yours truly and my Mango Wonderland. Why why! I cannot have name for my creation meh.... haha

Universal Studios Singapore Part #2

... continued from Part One...

There was an obelisk, pharaohs, scarabs beetles and so on! There is a rollercoaster ride here which is another must-ride! It's called Revenge of the Mummies. The people told us about 10-15 mins waiting time. We waited 1 hour +. GODDAMIT.

So much time spent waiting. And I am someone who hates waiting. Gosh.

The ride was great really! But don't take my word for it if you are going to measure against the Universal Studios in other countries.

It was raining heavily when we got out of the ride @ Ancient Egypt. We ran in the rain to go get our bags from the locker. Shit man. 1st 30 mins free and after that is $3 per half hour. WTH I just don't get it. They make us put things in locker and make us wait for 1 hour and then I have to pay for the locker somemore!! GRRRRR

NVM ok! The next bigger problem was, they asked us to lock EVERYTHING in the locker. No loose items. So the stupid thing is I have to pay in order to open the locker.

You tell me how.

People ended up borrowing from one another. And some didn't have change... etc etc and it was chaotic! Nobody around us looked friendly enough to borrow from so we got help from a staff.

Guess what, he opened our locker for us and we didn't need to pay! Poor girl in front of me paid $5 for nothing.

Anyway, next up is Sci-Fi City. This is the only City I just didn't get. Obviously I didn't watch the movie Battlestar Galactica which this city's theme is based on. There were 2 REALLY cool rollercoasters here that are closed due to a technical glitch in the 1st week of its opening.

Since it was raining and we were looking for shelter, we got on a teacup-like ride called Accelerator that went round and round. We had a bit of time till the next water show at Waterworld so we went onward to New York New York! Me love New York. SO GOING TO GO NEW YORK very soon.

New York presents us with a lot of photo-taking opportunities. the pictures really make me look like I'm in a different city altogether (even though I'm really in Singapore)!

I heard that KT's Grill here is great for meals! :)

I really enjoyed Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg and Stage 28. You should take a walk in there. A scene of a major hurricane comes to life right before your very eyes. Super cool!!

At this point, we ran back to Waterworld for our next show. In our race against time, we passed by a street performance by a group of yummy looking muscular B-Boys!

ONWARD!

The Watershow at Waterworld is a great display of a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, awesome explosions and thrills at this sensational live water show. The actors in the show are damn cute! Loads of gun shots, running, shooting, fighting and falling into waters. It was entertaining.

Since we were back at Jurassic, we went to use our "UNIVERSAL EXPRESS" to get on the Rapid Adventure ride again! Yay! It was working! And we got on super fast.

The BF got COMPLETELY DRENCHED! Haha! I got wet too. My hair and my bottoms were wet! The little boy who was in the same boat as us was completely drenched too! Haha! It was FUN!

We walked on towards Hollywood, passed by a Hat Shop that had many people trying on their awesome hats.

And we rushed for our very last show of the day - Monster Rock. Alas, I hate to say this but Monster Rock was just off. It was uninteresting. I was hoping it'll end soon and this is the only show I have ever seriously considered leaving halfway. It wasn't the performers really. It was the whole theme. The singing... the dancing... the concept of bringing monsters to live thingy.... just off. I didn't enjoy this. Grand theatre though.

That brings me to the end of this post. Bye bye! Universal Studios closes at 7 and we left at 6.30pm. Dinner time! :D

Yes. A big bottle of HERSHEY'S syrup would just hit the right spot.

Hada Labo Review

Can 1 drop really lock up an ocean?

Thanks to the good people at Fr3b.com, I got to try the new Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Wash and Lotion!

I first saw this product on 女人我最大!

By the way, I love this show. They make every product look like it's the best! Haha!

Anyway, back to Hada Labo. I didn't know it was sold in SG already but by the end of this entry, you would know that I am happy it finally is in SG!

Here's the wash and lotion.

Hada Labo's brochure said:

"Best selling lotion!"
"1 sold every 4 seconds in Japan"
"1 drop locks up an ocean"

Hada Labo's products are all about “PERFECT X SIMPLE”. It is a skincare range that emphasizes on simplicity in its skincare process. You can read more on www.hadalabo.com.sg

This super popular lotion in Japan claims to hydrate skin and preserves the skin’s optimum moisture balance. Used as part of a beauty regiment after cleansing, application is simple. Drip two to three drops on the palm, gently pat onto skin until the viscous lotion is thoroughly absorbed.

As the Super Hyaluronic Acid ingredient mimics the skin’s natural moisturising ability to enhance water retention, it preserves the skin’s optimum moisture balance and leaves the surface lastingly hydrated and suppler.

*********My Take On The Product*********

The cleanser didn't foam much. I prefer foamy cleansers. Somehow, it makes washing up more fun. Haha! But I loved the fact that it has no fragrance to it. It's light and it doesn't dry out my skin. You know how sometimes, the skin gets really dry after you wash your face? Super choice for people who don't like much foam in their cleansers.

As for the lotion, to be honest I was a bit taken aback at how sticky the liquid was but after I patted it into my skin, and it got absorbed, it felt real good. The great thing about this is, it seems very concentrated cos you only really need 2-3 drops for your whole face. My skin really felt moisturized. It wasn't oily when I woke up in the morning as well. And really, honestly, for a product like this, and priced at $22.90, I think it's very reasonable.

I just got this product so I have not really used this long-term yet. But it feels (literally) like a good start already. :) Will definitely blog about it after I've used it for awhile!

Check out their TVC:

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

It’s crazy but it is fun…. and the show is finallyyyyyy here!!!!

If I am a sorcerer’s apprentice, I will…. Save the world!! No seriously, I will save the world! If I ever ever ever find myself in such a clichéd situation, I must really do the clichéd la.
I think I will probably drive my master sorcerer crazy with an avalanche of questions and what ifs. Haha!

Back to saving the world. I will look first at poverty-stricken countries not only provide food, but create an economy from which these people can learn to feed themselves and have a shot at living a comfortable life.

Then I will save animals that are close to extinction. I will recreate environments that are most suitable for their well-being and to allow their numbers to flourish.

If I achieve the above two, I will look at saving the environment. Temperatures worldwide need to be regulated. Antarctica needs to be colder to save the Polar Bears. Countries that are too hot need to be cooler so that precious forests are not burned down.

Ok, once I started, I kept going! I didn’t even know I wanted to do so many things beyond my own little ability.

So there, yes if I am a sorcerer’s apprentice, I will do what I can to save the world. But for now, I’m looking forward to watching The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Movie. :) Nicholas Cage looks sexy as a sorcerer :P

Catch The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Movie starting from 22nd July 2010 and join the Walt Disney Studios Singapore official Facebook and Twitter page!

Universal Studios Singapore

~Riding the Movies in the Region's Only Hollywood Movies Theme Park~

Universal Studios is in it's soft launch opening at the moment. Since it was the BF's birthday, I took leave on a Thursday and went for a day trip to Universal Studios at Sentosa, Singapore.

Mon-Thurs are considered off peak and tickets are priced at $66 per adult. Fri-Sun is at a whopping $78 per adult.

I know that like Disneyland, Universal Studios are all over the world. I didn't know the entrance fee is so pricey!

Anyway, let me begin blogging abut my day!

There are 6 main areas. Madagascar, Far Far Away, Jurassic Park, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi, New York and Hollywood.

We went to Madagascar first. Everybody knows the show. The dancing lemurs, the sly penguins, gloria the hippo and the brave lion...

We caught the dancing characters from the show. It was real cute!!

It only took the first 15 mins of being in Universal Studios that made me realise the beauty of it. People who work here have to make it real. They have to make the experience real.

Right down to the signs that are put up everywhere!

I'm paying to walk into fairyland. Paying to feel like I'm not in Singapore for one day. Paying for a holiday!

So I started to relax and let Universal Studios make my day.

After the show we went onward to Far Far Away to visit Shrek! Here's the castle in Far Far Away.

But hang on a minute, check out what I found at Far Far Away!! Queue lines for water cooler!! Wahaha!

There's this 4D show that is a must watch. It's 3D with real effects! If there's water, you feel water. If there's wind, well, you get the idea. MUST WATCH. We waited like 1 hour for this. Nearly gave up, but it's definitely one of the must watch. It's inside the castle!

Next up, we found ourselves in Jurassic Park! I wonder why they chose Jurassic Park as one of the themes. It's kind of dated isn't it? Oh well. Regardless, there were several rides here and a water show too. We missed the timing for the water show so we decided to queue for one of their signature rides which would be the Rapids Adventure ride.

There were signs everywhere that reminded us repeatedly that we will get wet and possibly soaked. Raincoats were sold at $2 apiece. Hey, it's our day to be kids so we didn't buy any. :)

We waited.... 2 FREAKING HOURS for this ride. Omg. It was a mad torture. 2 hours. Nothing to do. Stand and sit. And what made it worst was that this was where we discovered the existence of "UNIVERSAL EXPRESS". I suppose people pay extra to skip the queues.. but WHY DIDN'T WE GET THIS?!

*SIGH*

I feverently wished for an iphone throughout the 2 hours. Imagine the things I could do!!

NVM, as we drew nearer, I spent the time waiting analysing the right place to sit so that I will get least wet. Obviously I was a bit SOTZ from the waiting cos no matter how much analysis is put into this, the bloody boat turns all the time so there is no way of guessing where best to sit.

On our turn, we excitedly skipped into the boat and waiting with much anticipation of the splash.

But right before the part where the boat goes splashing into the water, the friggin' boat stopped and there reported a technical glitch. Perfecto.

Naturally, the others who waited for 2 hours like us were boiling mad. But I guess it made us all feel better when they gave us a "UNIVERSAL EXPRESS" pass to make up for it and that they will try to fix the ride asap.

:/ Waiting 2 hours at that ride made us miss the next Water Show. :(!

Moving on, we skipped the Canopy Ride at Jurassic and went onward to Ancient Egypt. I got to say I love the architecture at Egypt the most. I must go Egypt - the real one - one day.

Stay tuned for Part #2!!
