A whole new world
Just like most other people out there, I have my own little set of things about my appearance that I am unsatisfied about. Like my hair could look greater, my nails don't break, my eyes bigger, skin more flawless, etc, etc...
But hey, how about this new concept?
Live your life through a robotic version of you - or rather, what you want to look like. And all from the comforts of your own home.
Yes, you heard me right. Better looking versions of yourself. Never get hurt. Never die of an unnatural death. They are robots but you will feel what they feel and see what they see. Smoking will never cause harm to your body and random hookups with strangers will not get you AIDS!
And what on earth am I talking about? The new movie SURROGATES will present to us what such a world may look like! This movie promises to be another interesting break from reality with its intricate and exhilirating concept.
It gets exciting when this ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences does not exist get its first murder in years. FBI agent Geer (Bruce Willis) discovers a conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.
From the video, it does look pretty cool to be physically perfect and never die an unnatural death. But I dunno if its a good idea to live in such a world man... I mean, if I lie at home everyday and go out via my surrogate, won't I be fat and all? I will still look at my human self in the mirror at the end of the day eh..?
But but, there may be details in the show that will address my concerns of this "new concept". Haha
And just for the fun of it, if I could have a surrogate, I would look like this:
A bit meatier though. :P
Through her, I would probably try to get her to run through a day in my normal life and see how much easier a day in my normal life would be if I were drop dead gorgeous. I wonder would the results be fair?
I doubt it. :P It'll definitely make great conversion with friends!

Hi there,
Thanks very much for your interesting blog. It's always nice to see how people on the other side of the globe live, how they share the same joys and sorrows, what they do in their free time, etc.
I actually have a question about your blog. Would you mind helping us with a linguistic research project? We're compiling data from various Singaporean weblogs. All it requires is checking a few boxes. If you want to take part and/or have more questions, I'll send you the 'official' project eMail. We'd really appreciate your help.
Thanks very much in advance!
Best regards,
- Fran
